On our most recent trip we took to China we went to this spot on the beach in Sanya where there's a whole bunch of carts like the ones pictured set up one after another for about a quarter mile right on the beach. These carts open up at dark and go till 2am. The menu is whatever you see in front of you. Fresh fish (all different types), tako (octopus), squid, seaweed, shrimp, eel, and an assortment of veggies. You just pick and chose what you'd like for them to BBQ for you. There's a lady who sits behind the grill all covered up to keep from getting burnt and inhaling smoke I guess who bbq's up your order right in front of you. All dishes are skewered for easy cooking and the grill itself doesn't really have a grill on top. It's just the bottom half of the grill used to put wooden embers on the bottom of and then you lay the skewers across resting the stick on both edges of the grill.. There's a fan she uses to keep the fire nice and hot. The lady brushes on some type of oil, and sprinkles on spices and seasoning to everything that goes on the grill. Wish I knew what it was she was putting on there because it was ono! It's a pretty simple set up and from the looks of it. The food gets cooked pretty fast over the open fire. Aside from the BBQ there's a bunch of tables and lights set up on the beach with karaoke machines and quad rides available for your entertainment. I gotta say this was quite the experience and these ladies do an excellent job of making BBQ look so easy and taste so good! There's nothing like fresh fish on a stick, cold beers and a good group friends to enjoy it with!
