Hana Hou BJ Penn!

So I guess I was wrong with my prediction on the Penn vs. Edgar fight. I really thought that BJ would be back to his old self being the aggressor and bringing the fight to Edgar. This however was not the case and Frankie Edgar once again proved to be the better more improved fighter. I give props to Edgar but just can't see him dominating that lightweight division the way BJ did. Nor do I see anyone else doing what BJ has done in that class...period. No matter the result I will continue to be one of BJ's many loyal supporters hoping to one day see him back in the winners circle. BJ has made us proud to be from Hawaii and continues to probably be the most recognized most beloved fighter in the UFC. Hana Hou BJ Penn!

Penn vs. Edgar

It's on tonight! Pupus, beers, and a night out with da boys! I have a good feeling that we're not going to have the same result as last time. BJ's gonna come out ready to scrap and it ain't gonna be pretty for Franky.

Shawn Stussy's twinnies

After taking a long hiatus from his original passion, Shawn Stussy is
once again back in the shaping room. For those of you that didn't know
Shawn started off as a shaper. Back in the 80's Shawn was one of the
more influential shapers in the Orange County area. Look forwards to
seeing more coming out of his shaping room!

Shao Zhang

Michael Zhang what can I say. He's a crazy motherfucker too! I've had the pleasure (and displeasure) of working for this guy for the past 13+ years. He's definitely a one of a kind guy from China. There's not another Chinese dude you will ever find like him. He's very hard to understand when he speaks, especially when he's excited or passionate about something. His story and background is one from a tall tale and you probably wouldn't believe it anyways...but it's all true! He doesn't surf or skate but he loves the industry as if he did. He's very saavy and aggressive businessman. He's driven to make an impact in this world regardless if it's in business or if it's in his kindness to help a person out. He's a tireless worker and one of the most positive men that I have ever met. Not everyone will agree with my take on Michael but that's what makes him....him. He's allowed me to take the ship and steer it and I appreciate the opportunity. This last trip with the guy we saw him in the rarest of form! Not something you wanna see but at the end of the day it was very entertaining and I'm sure he either made a positve or negative impact on those who got to witness. Either way he made an impact which is goal in life.

TK & Parks

As mentioned in my prior post we just got back from a trip to SD and LA for work related reasons. It's been awhile but I finally got to travel with 2 of the craziest motherfuckers around. TK and JP who've I've had the pleasure or misfortune (depends on which way you look at it) to work with as well as hang with for the past 15 years. It's a love hate relationship with these guys but at the end of the day you can't help but laugh it off. After 3 days with these guys I'm glad to be home and in my own bed not having to hear Snorfius saw logs all night long. On the other hand it was a great time and alot of drunken stories for the archives.

Tyler Warren

Just got back from a trip to San Diego for work. Got to check out the Sacred Craft show where they were featuring So.Cals finest shapers both young and old. While there I got to watch Tyler Warren shape. Tyler style both in and out of the water is very unique. He will be here in Hawaii for an artshow on Aug. 19th in Waikiki along with Andy Davis. Should be a great show. Stop by and check it out.

Skate Artshow in Costa Mesa

Just got back from a short business trip in Costa Mesa this past week. Got to hang out with Nick for a night. Started out having a few coldies at the Chart House and then over to Billy's for dinner. At the end of the night we found our way up to the Camp in Costa Mesa at a random artshow featuring some of my favorite skateboarders of all time. Lance Mountain, Steve Caballero, Christian Hosoi, Steve Olson, Ray Barbee, Jeremy Ray, Todd Francis, Don Pendleton, and the list goes on. Ran into some other random amigos at the artshow as well. Always a good time when Nick and I get together on his turf. Enjoy the pics!
